About This Swim School

The Brampton facility was purpose-built for Making Waves in 2010.  It was custom designed specifically for teaching swimming lessons! Your family will enjoy access to our large family change rooms and spacious, modern viewing area complete with a handy kids play space.

Some other features of our Brampton location are wide walk-in steps for small children, a large parking lot and a state of the art UV water sanitation system! The pool is also kept at a warm 90 degrees to keep your little ones warm while they learn!  Please stop by during business hours for a tour and more information!

CHRIS PORTER

Senior Manager, Brampton

I am thrilled to be joining Making Waves and to help provide you and your kiddos an amazing experience with their ‘learn to swim’ journey. I’ve been in the Aquatics and Hospitality industry for almost 2 decades and look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with the team. My passion lies with the growth and development of swimmers and coaches while creating a fun and friendly environment for all. I love spending time with family and friends and going on hikes with my 2 lovely dogs.

DANIEL DA SILVA

Assistant Manager, Brampton

Hi, my name is Daniel and I’ve been working at Making Waves since 2016! My favourite sport to play is soccer and I love to watch hockey with my friends and family. I love to travel, I have been to places such as Portugal, Spain, Mexico, Los Angeles and Italy! When I am not at the pool you can find me outside going for walks with my dog or at the soccer field playing soccer with my friends. My favourite soccer team is Porto FC! My favourite thing about Making Waves is the amazing and welcoming environment that I get to experience coming in to work every day. Come visit me at the pool!

How old does my child need to be to learn to swim?

Learning to swim has so many benefits. Not only does swimming build motor skills, provide numerous health benefits, and improve cognitive function, but it can also reduce your likelihood of drowning by up to 88% in children ages 1 to 4––which makes it a life saving skill. But despite a parent’s desire for their children to learn to swim, a lot of parents wonder what age is appropriate for them to start.
